• Durante la Primera / Verano del 2000 se graba el álbum, y a principios del 2001 la banda se va de gira a Australia y Nueva Zelanda para el "Big Day Out Tour".

• El tercer album de la banda es lanzado el 2 de Abril del 2001.

• Para la promoción europea, Rammstein, decide utilizar el single "Sonne", mientras que para la promoción en America, fue elegido "Links 234".

• En Mayo / Junio, hacen una gira europea con Clawfinger como teloneros.

• El 30 de Junio, Rammstein actua en Japon, en el "Fuji Rock Festival".

• En Julio, la gira llega a Canada y EEUU con Crossbreed y Godhead como teloneros.

• Para Agosto, Rammstein llega a México. teniendo 2 fechas en el DF (Pabellon Este del Palacio de los Deportes el 4 y 5) y una en Monterrey (el dia 6), teniendo a Hocico como banda abridora.

• A su regreso de México, es lanzado el single "Ich Will" (en RU salen varias versiones)

• Para Otoño / Invierno, la gira regresa a Europa y va desde Portugal hasta Rusia. Es lanzado el single "Asche zu Asche".

• El 29 de Octubre, con motivo de la gira europea, es lanzado el "Mutter Tour Edition", que incluye, además de los 11 temas del a edición normal, 4 canciones grabadas en vivo: "Ich Will", "Links 234", " Sonne" y "Spieluhr".

• En Noviembre, Rammstein hace una aparición especial en vivo en los "MTV European Music Awards" realizados en Frankfurt. "Mutter" obtiene multiple Disco de Platino y sale a la venta el libro "Rammstein" editado por Gert Hof en alemán e ingles.

• En Marzo del 2002, es lanzado el single "Mutter". La banda obtiene los premios "Hard Rock" a "Mejor artista alternativo" y "Mejor Concierto Rock".

• En agosto se estrena la pelicula "xXx" (Triple X) , cuya secuencia inicial, incluye el tema "Feuer Frei", interpretado en vivo por la banda. Rammstein gana el premio "Kerrang" a "Mejor Concierto Internacional".

• En Noviembre, Till lanza su libro de poemas "Messer"

• En Diciembre es lanzado el DVD - Recopilatorio "Lichtspielhaus", el cual incluye todos los videos lanzados hasta ese momento, presentaciones en vivo y algunas cosas más,
